Olvera Street

Last week my mom and I went on our ultimate favorite day after Thanksgiving date…a trip to Olvera Street in Los Angeles.  Olvera Street, the oldest part of downtown Los Angeles, is a fantastic Mexican bazaar filled with wonderful Mexican food, mariachis, traditional costumes, strong margaritas, and Mexican trinkets galore.  Every time I come home to visit my mom, it is essential that we have our El Pueblo date with a couple of margaritas in tow and sing with the mariachis.  I may be a frustrated pop star, but my mom is the frustrated mariachi singer!  Yep, this apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree!

Oh, and I picked up some party favors there for a margarita bridal shower I threw for my friend Bridgett in San Francisco this past weekend (yes, I’ve been all over the California map these past couple of weeks).  Aren’t my little friendship bracelets with sombreros (last photo) so adorable?
