Cucumber

When I walked into my mom’s kitchen last week, I went straight to her refrigerator for some hydration.  Little did I know I’d open up the refrigerator door to find a gorgeous glass pitcher of water filled with the most elegantly sliced cucumbers (yes, that is the bird’s eye view of my mom’s water pitcher).  I couldn’t resist and am now addicted…and everyone else she is serving to is too.

Before I give you this ultra-easy and eye-appealing hydration recipe, let’s find out what the beauty benefits of cucumbers are.

Cucumbers have large amounts of Vitamin A.  Vitamin A is key for healthy skin, hair, and gums.

Cucumber skin contains Vitamin C which is needed for collagen production and promotes tighter skin. Vitamin C prevents wrinkles.

Cucumbers also contain Vitamin K.  Vitamin K protects skin elasticity and prevents wrinkles.

Cucumbers are anti-inflammatory and ultra-hydrating.

When cucumbers are placed into water, some of their nutrients will seep into the water. If you desire more nutrients, add more cucumber.  This is a wonderful way to hydrate throughout the day with an anti-aging, skin tightening kick!

Huge cucumber fan. Not too big on recipes, but when I was pregnant with the twins, I would easily eat 2 cucumbers a day. Now that my boys are older, it is one of their favorite snacks as well! Perfect anytime, especially in the heat of summer!
