Lemon Water

Speaking of rituals I need to take on, here is a ritual I used to excel at and have recently fallen off the wagon with…drinking warm water with lemon first thing in the morning.

Lemon water first thing in the morning alkalizes your body, keeping acid levels at bay.  Even though lemon tastes acidic, it is really alkaline.  When your body is in an alkalized state, the immune, circulatory, and digestive systems are in prime health form to combat disease and other intruders.  Disease thrives in acidic states and wither in an alkaline environment. Lemon water in the morning detoxifies the liver, which then dumps those toxins to be released first thing in the loo…yes, I call the bathroom the loo.

  • Vitamin C slows down damage from free-radicals.  Vitamin C is an anti-ager with its fierce protection.
  • Vitamin C is key to collagen production, making skin firm.
  • Lemon water’s detoxifying properties keep blemishes at bay by detoxifying the blood.
  • It freshens breath.
  • Flushing out toxins daily with lemon water provides for a glowing complexion.

It is a very easy ritual to take on after your beauty’s rest.  Just squeeze half an organic lemon into 8 oz of warm filtered water.  Warm water is key to absorb all of the detoxifying and youthful alkaline benefits of lemon.  Have your chilled water with lemon later on in the day or throughout the day. Try adding it to my mom’s favorite water for daily hydration.
