Radio Silent

Goddess Huntress | Radio Silent

I’ve been radio silent.

I walked away from the internet, email, and all things social media in November. It wasn’t an electronic cleanse.

My mom was in the ICU and it rocked my world.  I retreated and focused all of my energy on her healing and her walking out of those hospital doors fairly unscathed.

She did just that.

Then I needed to recuperate myself.

Prior to my mom’s big scare, I was already pretty worn out.  In September we found out our apartment was the perfect breeding space for black toxic mold…lots of it. (Oh, the irony that I would be living in a toxic environment!) The landlord refused to take care of it and filed for bankruptcy. We bolted out of that toxic environment and moved into a stunning home by the ocean in October.  Our third day there, our home flooded and we’ve been living with contractors since.  Luckily our refrigerator did not go kaput on us prior to Thanksgiving, but after.

So that is where I have been emotionally and physically.  I’m not sharing this for pity, just wanted to let you know why I have been radio silent.

My mom is doing excellent and I’m so happy to have her back.  Our last night in the ICU was quite the slumber party of sorts and it will remain as my absolute favorite day with her. She couldn’t stop singing after the respirator was removed!  She has a new lease on life and is savoring every moment.  She has abandoned her workhorse ways to enjoy life to the maximum, which is the biggest gift she can give herself (and me). She has been my rock and I will always be hers.

Love you all and thanks for being so patient with my unanswered emails and such.

I’m back and ready to rock!

  1. I’m so sorry to hear about all of the ups & downs last month. Sending your mom lots of healing love + good house vibes your way!
I’ve been radio silent too for the last few weeks (we just moved-in yesterday) and I have to say it’s been sooo nice.
Look forward to having you back. I’ve missed your posts. :)

  2. Glad you and your mom are back!

  3. Wow! Sounds like a very rough time. Glad to hear your mom is doing better- always such a kind, beautiful, and fashionable woman. I hope the New Year holds much brightness and joy for you.
